Multi-platinum, four-time GRAMMY-nominated band Goo Goo Dolls today released The Audience is That Way (The Rest of The Show) Vol. 2 via Warner Bros. The record marks the second volume of a two-part compilation series and was preceded by the companion live album The Audience is This Way, which arrived on July 21, 2018. Each release contains 10 different never-before-heard recordings of some of their most iconic hits. The Audience is That Way (The Rest of The Show) Vol. 2 arrives just in time for Black Friday and is now available on all digital streaming platforms and via the band’s website HERE. The band is currently in the studio working on their 12th studio album.

The Audience is That Way (The Rest of The Show) Vol.2 was recorded by John Schimke, and was produced and mixed by lead singer John Rzeznik, Chris Szczech and Brad Fernquist. Boasting transcendent songs such as “Black Balloon”, “Name” and “Here Is Gone”, the album visits territory from the band’s full discography and captures their dynamic live presence that continues to stun sold-out audiences worldwide.

Goo Goo Dolls recently wrapped a successful tour in celebration of the 20th Anniversary of their acclaimed album, Dizzy Up the Girl. At each show, the band performed the record in it’s entirety along with an additional set of surprises and other hits from their repertoire. The tour garnered praise across the board:

“Together, they managed the delicate balance of bringing the music to life in a way that was true to the sound of the record while tearing it up like a live rock-and-roll band.” (Arizona Republic)

“The Goos’ subsequent string of hit singles has proved long and strong enough to make mainstays Johnny Rzeznik and Robby Takac a perennial concert draw.” (St. Louis Post Dispatch)

“Goo Goo Dolls’ “Dizzy Up the Girl” tour displayed the band’s history of hits beautifully and reminded the world that it is possible for a band to cover multiple genres both on the radio and in its lesser-known repertoire.” (The Daily Californian, University of California, Berkeley)

Major edits to this article[edit]

Please do NOT make major changes (aka removing or moving entire tables) without discussing it here first. Because revert was not possible I had to repair everything manually. Most of what was deleted is now back, without losing any of the recent additions to the page.

Also please do NOT use any of the big discography sites (allmusic for example) as a source. They have been proven to contain many wrong information regarding the Goo Goo Dolls discography. Please use the lists on http://www.musicfanclubs.org/googoodolls/ and http://www.googoofans.com instead, they have been built from physical copies of CDs and are acurate. Thanks. Big Machine[edit]

Why isn't 'Big Machine' added to the music videos section? That had a music video that was fairly similar to 'Before It's Too Late'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.65.195.146 (talk) 20:26, 12 November 2011 (UTC)

I think the reason for that is because Big Machine isn't an official music video. It was aired once after a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode. I believe to promote some kind of brand. It's indeed similar to the Before It's Too Late video.Splendor (talk) 22:13, 16 February 2012 (UTC)

Iris UK Chart Position[edit]

According to the source given in the article Iris charted at 50 on initial release. A year later, a re-release version charted at 26, since then several times the original version has re-entered charting at anywhere from the 30's to the 200's. A further double A side charted at 37 at no time has the single reached the Top 10 so I've requested page protection to prevent the insertion of '3' by an IP user unless someone can present an alternative source that explains why it should be 3. Stuart.Jamieson (talk) 09:07, 1 May 2013 (UTC)

O.K. found a source that shows the #3 position but per the requisite style guideline each of these 4 releases (1998-Reprise:50, 1990-Hollywood:26, 2006-Warner Double A-Side:39, 2011-Warner:3) should be listed separately with separate chart positions for each requisite year ( rather than a single peak position for the song in all versions (which misleads readers into thinking the song peaked on first release). Should 'U.S. Radio Songs' have it's own column?[edit]

The Goo Goo Dolls currently hold the record for the longest running song at number one on the 'Radio Songs' chart with 'Iris'. Other songs that have charted on the 'Radio Songs' chart include 'Slide', 'Name', 'Here Is Gone', 'Black Balloon', 'Broadway', 'Give A Little Bit', 'Naked', 'Big Machine', and 'Better Days'. 'Naked' is even listed under the 'Billboard Hot 100' column with a note stating 'Naked' did not enter the Billboard Hot 100, but peaked at number 47 on the US Radio Songs chart.' Adding this column would be beneficial in showing the success the band has had, and we could remove the note for 'Naked' and place it's chart position in it's proper location.(Kirbygamelord (talk) 20:22, 28 June 2016 (UTC))
